We check tread depth, inspect the inner liner for previous repairs and damage, look for dry rot and uneven wear, and check the date code — because a tire that has sat in a warehouse for eight years is not a bargain no matter how much tread is left.

Are used tires safe?
A properly inspected used tire with good tread and no internal damage is safe. An uninspected one is a gamble. We check tread, the inner liner, the date code and overall condition before anything goes on your vehicle, and anything questionable does not get sold.
How much tread will a used tire have?
It varies by tire, and we will tell you the actual measurement before you buy. We do not sell anything close to the wear bars — if it is nearly worn out, it is not worth your money or our reputation.
Can I mix a used tire with my existing tires?
Usually yes, if the size matches and the tread depths are reasonably close. On all-wheel-drive vehicles it matters more and we will tell you if it is a problem.
